Business Brokers to Gather in Orlando

(Independence, OH / Orlando, FL – January 30, 2019) Sales of businesses are reaching record numbers, and today’s political world is having a greater impact than ever on Business Brokers – the professionals who aid in the buying and selling of businesses. To stay ahead of the rapid change and identify future trends in their industry, Business Brokers worldwide will gather at Rosen Shingle Creek golf and spa resort in Orlando, Florida on May 10-11 for the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) Annual Conference.

“The economy has definitely heated up and it’s important for our members to stay ahead of trends and technologies that will change and improve how they help their clients,” said Kylene Golubski, Executive Director of IBBA. “We have two full days of thought-provoking and educational seminars and breakout sessions, and a keynote speaker covering topics that will influence the future of our industry.”

Themed The Big Ideas Event: Embracing Change on Main Street, the IBBA Conference will feature presentations from industry experts including keynote speaker Jim Harris, a best-selling author and a foremost thinker on disruptive innovation.

Harris will speak about the power of disruptive innovation, how it’s changing the world and the need for brokers to embrace it. His background includes work with leading businesses and Fortune 500 companies including a global consulting contract with IBM. He’s written several books including the most recent, Blindsided! which is a #1 international bestseller.

In addition, Obreahny O’Brien from Ernst and Young, a multinational professional services fund, will discuss cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and how it’s changing the way in which business transactions are completed.

There will also be 30 workshops, mastermind sessions, a Main Street Marketplace and networking sessions. Several accreditation courses will also be offered including:

  • 8 credit hour IBBA Course #301: Introduction to Mergers and Acquisitions
  • CBI Reinstatement, Fast Track and Refresher Programs
  • Other 4 credit hour IBBA and M&A Source Courses

For planning purposes, separate registration is required for each accredited course.

The IBBA Member Excellence Awards will also be a part of the annual conference. The awards ceremony recognizes individuals who have proven exceptionally skilled at applying the standards of excellence that IBBA promotes.

“There’s a lot taking place in just a few days,” said Golubski. “But, for Business Brokers around the world, this is their opportunity to get a wealth of insight and training from industry leaders. It’s time well spent.”
