Matt Thomas

Matt Thomas is the principal broker and owner of Synergy Business Brokers, a boutique M&A firm in Omaha serving privately held businesses valued between $1M and $30M across Nebraska, Iowa, and the Midwest. He holds a finance degree from the University of Nebraska and the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation, and has completed all requirements for the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) credential — the highest designation in the business brokerage profession. Before founding SBB, Matt built and exited a car transportation brokerage, held VP of Sales roles at multiple automotive companies, and co-founded a startup where he served as CEO for over five years before a successful exit. He brings direct experience as a founder, operator, and seller to every engagement. SBB focuses exclusively on confidential transactions in the lower middle market. Matt handles every deal personally — no handoffs, no junior brokers. Named an IBBA Outstanding Producer for 2024.
