Joel Duran, CM&AA, CM&AP, CEPA, CMSBB

Joel F. Duran is the founder of Duran Advisors, a New Orleans-based M&A advisory and business brokerage firm serving main street and lower middle-market owners across the Gulf South. In 15+ years as a deal maker, Joel has personally sold more than 100 businesses, first as a principal with an international brokerage and later as managing director of a boutique M&A advisory firm. Before he advised owners, he was one. He founded and operated eight companies across wholesale, retail, automotive, e-commerce, and hospitality, including one he started in college and grew into the largest wholesale customer of its industry's biggest supplier. He built Duran Advisors to close the gap between main street brokerages and investment banks, pairing institutional-grade valuation and buyer marketing with the hands-on attention a founder-led company deserves. Joel works alongside each seller's CPA, attorney, and financial advisor, and is a past IBBA educator.
